Cabinetry that quiets a room.

01Studio

We work in wood, slowly.

Heartwood is a small workshop run by a master carpenter and his daughter. We build custom kitchens, architectural wall paneling, and bespoke furniture for residential projects.

Our practice is defined by restraint. We source exceptional materials, cut joinery by hand where it matters, and finish our work with hand-rubbed oils and waxes. Time is measured in weeks, not days.

01

Consultation

An initial conversation to understand the scope, constraints, and intent of the project. We review architectural plans or visit the site to discuss materials and integration.

02

Measurement & Shop Drawings

Precise site measurements inform detailed shop drawings. Every reveal, grain direction, and hardware integration is resolved before a single board is cut.

03

Fabrication

Work begins in the studio. Solid lumber is milled, panels are veneered, and joinery is cut. We invite clients to the workshop to see their project take shape.

04

Finishing

Surfaces are prepared and finished according to the material. We use hand-rubbed hardwax oils for solid woods and sprayed lacquers for painted architectural elements.

05

Installation

Our team delivers and installs the work. We scribe to existing walls and floors, ensuring the millwork feels native to the architecture.
